Our engineering team provides the following detailed services:
  • Consultancy for pile design will be provided through the design phases feasibility studies, concept design, design development, construction documentation, tendering and construction period (authorship)
  • Development of engineering solutions and options of feasible pile systems as bored piles (cased, unsupported, fluid-supported, diaphragm wall etc.) and displacement piles (pre-fabricated driven piles, screw piles, etc.)
  • Comparison of the various pile systems proposed with adherence to costs, time schedule, quality assurance and existing market conditions
  • Design development and detailed design of the most efficient solution for the project
  • Preparation of tender documents including detailed drawings, bill of quantities and technical specifications
  • Assistance during tendering (clarification of questions by the bidders, bid evaluation)

Value Engineering

In order to optimize an existing pile design, gbc - geotechnical engineering provides value engineering to reduce material quantities, construction costs, the construction time while maintaining or improving the functioning and quality of the foundation structure / piling works. Our aim is to support Clients and Contractors in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and Phnom Penh, Cambodia with our engineering expertise. Our engineering team provides the following detailed services:
  • Review and evaluation of the existing structural design of the superstructure: design efficiency for possible weight reduction 
  • Review and evaluation of the existing structural design and soil investigation: design efficiency of foundation beams & slab and pile foundation (pile diameter, pile number, pile length and piling method & type)
  • Re-analysis and optimization of building and foundation sections and elements by use of 2D and 3D FE-Software (Infocad, Plaxis)
  • Linear and non-linear material and geometrical analysis by use of 2D and 3D FE-Software (Infocad, Plaxis)
  • Assessment of non-linear and long term material behaviour in order to limit the long-term deflections 
  • Determination of design improvements and feasible alterations, determination of the technical and economically optimal structural design solution 
  • Implementation of design improvements in close liaison and cooperation with the Client 
  • Development of high quality and detailed shop drawings for superstructure and foundation girder grid & slab (formwork and reinforcement, structural steel and timber constructions)
  • Development of high quality and detailed shop drawings for pile foundation (layout, sections) and pile material & installation specifications
  • Development of bill of quantities for the optimized design solution
